Reading in 4th grade has a focus of non-fiction text. The more your child reads nonfiction text at home the more background knowledge they bring to school, and are able to widen their vocabulary.
Reading homework should NEVER be skipped! In order for a child to succeed they need substantial amount of time to read each day. We focus on Main Idea, Details, Context Clues, Summarizing, Character Traits, and Cause & Effect within nonfiction texts this year. Below you can find added support for each of these topics. |
